The ASRAD-R with Bolide Missile and the HARD 3-D search radar
ASRAD-R (Autonomous Short Range Air Defense) is a short range air defense system for installation in any ground vehicle. The gyro stabilized ASRAD-R comprises a radar, or an IRST, an integrated IFF and 4 Bolide missiles.
The ASRAD-R employs a laser designator to guide the Bolide missiles. The ASRAD-R can be controlled remotely at distances of 100 meters.
Specifications
Ceiling = 5,000 m (16,404-ft)
Max Range = 8,000 m (8,791 yd)
Max Weight = 9,000 kg (1,984-lb)
Min Range = 200 m (220 yd)
Bólide Missil
Bolide is a jamming-resistant laser beam guided missile for use in lightweight, short-range air defenses. The Bolide has an intercept range of 8,000 meters and can engage targets flying at 5,000 meters of altitude. Its adaptive jamming-resistant laser proximity fuze enables small targets such as cruise missiles and UAVs engagements.
The Bolide missile warhead is a combination of more than 3,000 tungsten pellets and shaped charge. Currently the RBS70 and the ASRAD-R air defense systems use the Bolide missile.
In April 2004, Australia placed the first international order for Bolide missiles worth 160 million SEK ($25 million) to be fired from Australian Army's RBS70 air defense systems.
Following Czech Republic RBS70 selection for its armed forces in December 2004, Czech Republic placed an order for the RBS70 air defense system which included the Bolide missile as well as aircraft IFFs.
Specifications
Ceiling 5,000 m (16,404-ft)
Max Range 8,000 m (8,791 yd)
Max Speed 2,390 kph (Mach 2)
Max Weight 27 kg (60-lb)
Min Range 200 m (220 yd)
