Mais uma opcao de submarino SSK a ser considerada pela MB? Agora britanica...
Vidar-36
BMT's design for an affordable ocean-going conventional submarine
Vidar-36TM is a large and capable conventional submarine (SSK) design offering multiple-mission capabilities hosted in an ocean-going platform.
BMT's new SSK design offers a wide variety of benefits to her operators because we have allowed from the outset for a range of design options.
Benefits
Operators of Vidar-36TM will benefit in a number of ways, including:
ocean-spanning reach and persistence;
affordable and adaptable design;
at home in the deep and in the littoral;
land-attack, anti-surface, anti-submarine and special operations;
silent and covert platform.
Design Approach
Our naval architects and engineers developed the designs for Vidar-36TM as members of a multi-disciplinary BMT InSpiraTM project team. Focusing on rapid innovation and the application of new technologies to ship and submarine design, their design philosophy emphasises:
Utilisation of current commercial and military off-the-shelf technologies;
High capability combat system, accommodating refined sonar options as well as support for land attack, special, anti-submarine and anti-surface operations;
Superior standards of accommodation, enabling extended patrol durations;
Communications interoperability and compatibility with net-centric warfare;
Advanced capability for the launch, operation and recovery of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and tethered unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), including options for wet and dry deck hangars.
Features
Benefits are delivered through a number of exciting features offered by Vidar-36TM:
Submerged displacement: 3,600te
Operating depth in excess of 200m;
Maximum submerged speed: 20 knots;
Range: 9,000 nm (snorting), with extended range options;
Length (overall): 79m;
Beam (maximum): 8.4m;
Propulsion: Diesel-electric;
Optional air-independent propulsion system;
Six 21" torpedo tubes;
Up to 18 weapons, including heavyweight torpedoes, anti-ship and land-attack missiles; or
Up to 36 mines;
Capable, modern combat system;
Full suite of sensors including active and passive cylindrical, flank and intercept sonar arrays, mine and obstacle avoidance sonar, and reelable towed sonar array;
Eight universal modules for optronic masts; radar; CESM, satellite and integrated comms masts, and a snort mast;
Communications: Satellite and integrated comms, buoyant wire aerial, underwater telephone;
External modular payload bay abaft the fin;
Five- to ten-man lock-in lock-out facilities (plus special forces mission packages);
Launch, operation and recovery of AUVs and UUVs.
