Sevmash Shipyard to complete Kirov-class cruiser Admiral Nakhimov modernization by 2020
The Sevmash Shipyard in Severodvinsk plans to complete the maintenance and major modernization of the Admiral Nakhimov heavy nuclear missile cruiser of project 11442M by 2020, Russian Navy spokesman Igor Dygalo said.
"According to the plan, the shipyard is replacing and upgrading life-support systems of the warship, the radio-technical warfare means and power units. The modernization will also replace missile and artillery armaments of the Admiral Nakhimov. As a result the heavy nuclear missile cruiser will have completely new tactical and technical characteristics and will considerably enhance the potential of the surface forces of the Russian Navy," he said.
A state contract for the maintenance and modernization of the warship was signed in the spring of 2013 and the cruiser was placed into a dry dock in the autumn of 2014.

The Sevmash Shipyard launched the modernization of the Admiral Nakhimov to Project 11442M standard on January 24, 2014. The modernization started with dismounting the large equipment and systems subject to replacement or repair. This slashed the structural weight, which, in turn, made it easier to bring the ship from the berth to the flooding dock.
Sevmash and KBSM (Special Machinebuilding Design Bureau) made a deal for 10 modules of 3S14 vertical launch system (VLS) for installation as part of the cruiser’s upgrade. The deal’s value is estimated at 2.559 billion rubles ($39 million). Thus, 20 SM-225 launchers of the 3K-45 Granit (SS-N-19 Shipwreck) system will be replaced with 10 3S14 VLS modules to accommodate 3M-14 (SS-N-30) land-attack and 3M-54 (SS-N-27A Sizzler) antiship cruise missiles of the Kalibr missile system. The ammunition load will total 80 missiles.
The Project 11442M (NATO reporting name: Kirov-class) Admiral Nakhimov nuclear-powered heavy guided missile cruiser will be equipped with Tsirkon hypersonic missiles during her upgrade, a source in shipbuilding industry previously told TASS. "The Admiral Nakhimov’s strike system will be replaced with Tsirkon hypersonic missiles as part of her repair and heavy upgrade," the source said.
It was earlier reported that the first Russian Navy vessel to receive Pantsir-M missile and gun system will be heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov. It will also be fitted with a new generation information management system.

First Project 22350 Frigate Admiral Gorshkov to be Delivered to Russian Navy in Late July
The lead frigate of Project 22350 (NATO reporting name: Admiral Gorshkov-class), the Admiral Gorshkov, will be handed over to the Russian Navy in late July, President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexei Rakhmanov told journalists.

"New deadline has been fixed as test trials of armaments have been completed. I believe it will be strictly observed this time as by the end of February we shall complete the inspection and return to the test range with weapons which have to get the lettering necessary for inclusion in the fire power of the warship," he said and specified the new deadline is the end of July.
The Admiral Gorshkov had its keel laid in early 2006 and was floated in the autumn of 2010. In November 2014 it sailed out for the first test trials. The second frigate of the series, the Admiral Kasatonov was floated in 2014. The floating of the third warship, the Admiral Golovko is scheduled for 2017.
The Project 22350 frigate displaces 4,500 tons and accelerate to 29 knots. She carries, inter alia, the Oniks (SS-N-26 Strobile) and Kalibr (SS-N-27 Sizzler) missile systems and Poliment-Redut surface-to-air missile system.

Project 11711 Landing Ship Ivan Gren to Join Russian Navy in November 2017
Russia’s Project 11711 large amphibious assault ship Ivan Gren will be handed over to the Russian Navy not earlier than November, President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexei Rakhmanov told journalists.

"That will happen not earlier than November as a major degaussing problem was exposed there. Work is ongoing and we shall complete it," he said.
The main issue is for the scientists to confirm that calculations are accurate "so that we do not have to cut (the warship) again," Rakhmanov said.
"Unfortunately, the Ivan Gren has such unlucky fate as it has been built for 14 years by a shipyard which did not belong to the USC. Technical requirements to the warship changed three times during the period," he said.
The Ivan Gren is the lead warship of project 11711. Its keel was laid by Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad in December 2004 and the floating took place in May 2012. In June 2016 the warship began seagoing tests. The Russian defense ministry ordered Yantar Shipyard to build another warship of the type - the Petr Morgunov which has to be handed over to the Navy in 2018.

Comment by Navy Recognition
Sea trials were put on hold in October 2016 after problems surfaced with the degaussing system. A Yantar representative said at the time: "At the initial stage mistakes were made in calculating the magnetic field of the warship and now it is necessary to adjust the degaussing system,"
The warship was set to be handed over to the Russian Navy by the end of 2016. The defense ministry ordered Yantar to build yet another warship of the project - the Petr Morgunov. It has to be passed on to the Navy in 2018.
