Russian Navy to Receive First Admiral Gorshkov-Class Frigate on November 22
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Frigate Admiral Grigorovich left the port of Sevastopol for Greece via the Mediterranean Sea to commemorate Admiral Fyodor Ushakov as a part of the annual Russian week on the Ionian islands, the Black Sea Fleet press service said Saturday.
"Today, the newest frigate of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Grigorovich left Sevastopol for a long Mediterranean trip. The ship in the period from September 28 to October 2 will take part in XV annual forum Russian Week on the Ionian islands for the first time, when famous Admiral Fyodor Ushakov under whose command the Russian sailors freed the island of Corfu from foreign invaders in 1799, will be commemorated," the press service said.
In service since March 10, the Admiral Grigorovich is the first of six planned Project 11356 frigates, three of which are due to be delivered to the Defense Ministry by 2017. The frigate left the Baltic Fleet base in the western seaport town of Baltiysk in late April for Sevastopol.
The trials of the Admiral Grigorovich-class frigates were successfully completed in the Barents Sea in late 2015. The frigates, displacing 3,850 tonnes, are designed for anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare as well as for air defense missions, operating both independently or as part of convoys and naval task forces.

Russia’s 1st Project 12700 mine countermeasures vessel Alexander Obukhov starts state trials
The Project 12700 Alexandrit-class lead mine sweeper Alexander Obukhov currently under construction for the Navy at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard in St. Petersburg in northwest Russia has started undergoing state trials, the shipyard’s press office said.

"The new-generation lead mine sweeper Alexander Obukhov has begun undergoing state trials. When the state trials are completed, the ship will be delivered to Russia’s Navy," the press office added.
The Project 12700 Alexandrit-class ship is a new-generation mine sweeper. The ship features a fiberglass hull, which makes it lighter and extends its service life. The Project 12700 ship can sweep mines using various sweeps and remote-controlled and self-sustained unmanned submersible vehicles. Shipyard CEO Vladimir Seredokho said in early September that the mine sweeper Alexander Obukhov would be delivered to the Russian Navy in October 2016.

Russia's Project 955 SSBN Yuri Dolgoruky Test Launched Two Bulava Ballistic Missiles
The Project 955 Borei (NATO reporting name: Dolgorukiy) Yuri Dolgoruky nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) has conducted an experimental salvo launch of two Bulava (SS-NX-32) ballistic missiles from the White Sea, according to the press office of the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The Yuri Dolgoruky strategic submarine cruiser performed an experimental salvo launch of two Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles from the White Sea against targets at the Kura Missile Range in the Kamchatka Peninsula," the press office said. "Both missiles exited their launch tubes at the predetermined trajectory. The first weapon’s re-entry vehicles completed the flight by hitting their targets sitting in the missile range. "The other missile self-destructed upon completion of the first phase of its flight."
The Bulava’s previous two-missile launch was conducted by the Vladimir Monomakh SSBN on November 14, 2015 and recognized as success.
