SS-GB, episode 1 review: Dystopian Nazi nightmare is more timely than ever

Alternative history is the subgenre of fiction that deals in might-have-beens. Kingsley Amis imagined that the Reformation had never happened and made Protestant theologist Martin Luther a Pope.

John Banville had Mary Queen of Scots execute her cousin Elizabeth. Ben Elton prevented the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. But the most popular “what if…?” is “what if those scary Nazis had won the war?”

Philip K Dick, Philip Roth, Robert Harris, Harry Turteldove, Owen Sheers and plenty more have all come at the nightmare from their own angle (female authors, it seems, are not that into what-iffery).

No book, however, has brought the scenario home to roost quite like Len Deighton’s SS-GB, now a five-part drama on BBC One. In it, the Luftwaffe have won the Battle of Britain, England is occupied and Churchill is said to have flicked two fingers at the firing squad.

"The Walking Dead": Daryl e Negan vão passar por Lisboa em março



Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Norman Reedus (Daryl) e o produtor executivo Greg Nicotero vão estar em Portugal a 8 de março para a The Walking Dead Euro Tour.

Os dois atores vão estar no Teatro Tivoli, em Lisboa, para falar com os fãs sobre a sua participação na série, a mais vista em Portugal no ano passado. Com eles vai estar Greg Nicotero, produtor executivo de "The Walking Dead" e um dos maquilhadores mais reconhecidos em Hollywood, com créditos que incluem "Os Oito Odiados" ou os filmes da saga "Kill Bill", para além, claro, de ser responsável pelo visual dos walkers na série.

A FOX não indicou ainda se o acesso ao evento será feito com compra de bilhetes ou mediante passatempo.

BLACK MIRROR é porreiro, tem a vantagem de cada episódio contar uma história diferente, portanto nao nos precisamos de preocupar com "continuidade".
