Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS. Galizische) along with 13th SS division was formed from “non - Nordic” volunteers. An oath of “Galychyna” SS division as well as of other voluntary subdivisions of SS differed from “original” oath of SS troops: “I swear before God by this holy oath that in the struggle against the Bolshevism I will submit to supreme leader of German troops, Adolf Hitler and I want, as brave soldier to dedicate my life to fulfillment of this oath”. The subdivisions of the division from autumn 1943 took part in anti-guerrilla war over all territory of Europe. In the middle of July, 1944 the division of the first intake was destroyed by the Soviet troops. After its reforming Germans moved it to different fronts. On May 8-11, 1945 the rest of division gave up to American and British troops. In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine there is a draft law on recognition of warriors of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists - Ukrainian Insurgent Army, “Nachtigall” battalion and “Galychyna” SS as “warring side during the World War the II. The Right in the Verkhovna Rada try to proof that this units “protected Ukrainians from Germans and Soviet troops”. Photo UNIAN

não creio que são nazistas, e sim, pessoas que tenteram manter sua cultura e povo vivos contra a ameaça sovietica.

A Ucrânia marchou com as tropas nazista na II guerra, e não aprenderam a lição, que a soberania não pode ser tutelada.

A Ucrania? Desculpe, o que houve foram unidades formadas com Ucranianos. Não havia um entidade politica Ucraniana, como tal a forma como descreveu a situação não está correcta. Já Espanha enviou para a zona a Divisão Azul. Nesta situação já podemos dizer que a Espanha marchou com as tropas nazista na II guerra, já que foi o governo Espanhol a enviar esses homens (que se incluiam alguns Portugueses) e todos eles eram voluntários.

Já agora, na Waffen SS havia unidades de grande parte da europa ocupada e não só (houve uma unidade formada por indianos).

Latvian veterans of Hitler's Waffen SS marched through Riga on Monday, defying a ban by officials. The annual march divides the country. Latvians of Russian descent regard it as an insult, but many others honor the fighters for resisting Soviet occupation.

Some 300 Latvian veterans of the Waffen SS and their supporters marched through Riga on Monday to commemorate their comrades who fought the Soviet Union in Adolf Hitler's fanatical combat unit during World War II.

Supporters regard the Latvians who fought in the Waffen SS as liberators from the Soviet occupation in the war. Russia and many ethnic Russians in Latvia regard the annual commemorative marches as a glorification of fascism.

The demonstration went ahead in defiance of a ban by the city. Dozens of protestors jeered at the veterans as they carried flowers to the base of the Freedom Monument in the Latvian capital.

The march takes place each year but the city authority wanted to prevent it this year for fear that it could heighten tensions following heavy rioting in January, when anti-government protestors angered by the financial crisis clashed with police. On Monday, some 1,200 people gathered at the Freedom Monument, which symbolizes Latvia's fight against Soviet domination.

Police separated veterans from counter-demonstrators, who were mainly from Latvia's large ethnic Russian minority, as they shouted "Stalin kaputt" and "Hitler kaputt" at each other. A total of 13 people were detained but there was no violence reported.

The March 16 event has caused tensions every year since the veterans began to mark it soon after Latvia regained its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Ethnic Russians, who comprise approximately one-third of the country's 2.3 million people, believe that the Soviet Union liberated the Baltic state from fascism.

Soviet forces occupied the Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in June 1940, but were driven out by the Germans a year later. The Red Army retook the Baltic countries in 1944, and reincorporated them into the Soviet Union. The states regained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

On March 16, 1944, Latvian Waffen SS fighters fought the Red Army at the Velikaya river. In 1998 the Latvian parliament declared the day an official day of commemoration, but the holiday was scrapped two years later. Veterans still treat March 16 as an informal holiday, however.

Nearly 80,000 Jews, or 90 percent of Latvia's prewar Jewish population, were murdered in 1941-42, two years before the formation of the Latvian Waffen SS unit. Some Latvians claim this shows the unit could not have played a role in the Holocaust.

But historians say some Latvian Waffen SS soldiers were involved in the murder of Jews as auxiliary police before they entered the front-line unit.

Latvia says many of the 100,000 men who fought in the ranks of the Latvian Legion were conscripted and saw it as the only way to fight the Red Army after Moscow's annexation of their nation before the war. Latvia says the men had nothing to do with SS atrocities. The International War Crimes Tribunal in Nuremberg did not charge the Latvian Legion with crimes associated with the Holocaust.

Tomcats Russos

Segundo informações através do Irã a Rússia teve acesso a pelo menos dois caças F-14A do Irã. Consta um dos aviões tinha a cor cinza clara e não possuía marcas o outro pode ser visto nestas fotos http://images.google.com.br/imgres?imgu ... 0%26um%3D1ainda com a camuflagem de deserto típica dos caças iranianos. A ele foi incorporado apenas o "número 02" no padrão russo e a estrela vermelha. O Acesso da Russia a tecnologia destes aviões teria motivado a retirada de serviço do caça da Grumman. Os Russos certamente fizeram um bom uso dos caças iranianos e do seu sistema de armas AN/AWG-9/AIM-54A.



Ai esta uma das explicações do porque da retirada de serviço do F-14 Tomcat e o porque os exemplares amazenados no deserto estão sendo desmontados e virando sucata. Os americanos temem e muito que peças destes tomcats desativados venham a ser contrabandiadas para o Irã,

Penso que creditar o sucesso da família Flanker com o Su-27, bem como dos mísseis a possível cópia de equipamento Norte Americano é negar os aperfeiçoamentos da indústria Russa, só isso.
