Exatamente, é o próprio. Se não estou enganado, parece que a Romênia tinha feito um acordo com a Airbus Helicopters para produzir este modelo por lá. Não lembro agora se foi uma compra, visto eles usarem até hoje os Puma, também fabricados sob licença, e precisando também ser substituídos.

De qualquer forma, é um helo mais capaz do que os Super Puma que tínhamos até então por aqui, e bem mais baratos que os Caracal, que na época a França estava promovendo mundo afora. Ofereceram o mais caro, e o governo aqui comprou a ideia, e o bolso do MD se lascou depois. Mas ninguém liga para isso.

Israel to receive 50 new F-15IA Eagle II Fighter Jets from US

On April 2, 2024, CNN revealed that the Biden administration is preparing to formally notify Congress of its intention to approve the sale of 50 F-15EX fighter jets to Israel, in a deal valued at $18 billion. This transaction includes the acquisition of 25 new F-15EX "Eagle 2", also designated "F-15IA Ra’am II" in Israeli terminology and the upgrade of 25 existing F-15I aircraft to this advanced standard. The new jets, which will take about five years to build, respond to an initial request from Israel in January 2023 aimed at strengthening its air force.



The F-15EX "Eagle II", derived from the McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle, is an all-weather multi-role fighter bomber. It is the result of an initiative to modernize the American air fleet, addressing the need to replace aging F-15C/D aircraft with a more capable platform, while preserving industrial diversity with Boeing. With the integration of advanced technologies such as the AESA APG-82 radar, an EPAWSS electronic warfare system, and an advanced communication suite, the F-15EX positions itself as a valuable addition to Israeli air operations.

The F-15EX "Eagle II", at the center of this agreement, represents an advanced evolution of the McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle, incorporating significant improvements to enhance its operational capabilities. Powered by two new F110-GE-129 engines, the F-15EX benefits from exceptional power, enabling it to maintain supersonic speeds with a significant payload. This aircraft is notably equipped with an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) APG-82(V)1 radar from Raytheon Technologies, ensuring precise target detection and tracking.

The Israeli version, the F-15IA, is specially tailored to the operational requirements of the IAF. It stands out with the integration of digital flight controls and a Large Area Display (LAD) glass cockpit, providing pilots with increased visibility and control. Additionally, the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), co-produced by Elbit Systems and Rockwell Collins, and the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) electronic warfare system from BAE Systems, enhance the fighter's survivability and effectiveness in hostile environments.

The F-15IA's armament includes 12 air-to-air and 15 air-to-ground weapon stations, giving the aircraft impressive versatility and firepower. An advanced mission computer (ADCP-II) and modern data links enable effective communication with other platforms, such as the F-35, thereby optimizing integration and synergy within the Air Force.

Although exact delivery dates are yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated that Israel could begin receiving its new fighters as early as 2028, according to information from the Israel Times. The media also suggests that Israel might exert pressure to expedite these deliveries. Furthermore, an option for the acquisition of an additional 25 aircraft has been mentioned, paving the way for a future expansion of the Israeli air fleet.

Interessante que neste momento Israel, que já tem uma frota relativamente grande de F-15 de primeira geração e os afamados F-15I, se dê o trabalho de encomendar mais destas unidades na nova versão, mesmo tendo o F-35, dos quais também comprou uma boa parelha de unidades, e que tem sido usadas a gosto contra a vizinhança.

Não sou fã do F-15, mas para um caça que nasceu há mais de 50 anos, é quase tão velho quanto eu , a sua longevidade é realmente de surpreender. O F-14 não teve a mesma sorte, enquanto o F-16, mais barato, mostra-se ainda muito longe de ter sua linha de produção encerrada, apesar das encomendas cada vez mais escassas.

Dizem as más línguas que os pilotos indianos, via de regra geral, não são lá tão profissionais quanto de espera de alguém com um ativo de alguns milhões de dólares nas mãos.
Com tantos caças diferentes, se especializar em apenas um deveria ser algo prudente e lógico.
Mas parece não ser este o caso. Já que tem gente por lá que pilotou meio mundo ocidental e oriental em termos de modelos de caças.
Não é difícil encontrar que tenha voado no Tejas, Mig-21, Mirage 2000 e Su-30MKI

Marshal Abubakar specified that the new fleet would include 12 AH-1 attack helicopters, 24 M-346 combat planes, 12 AW109 multipurpose helicopters, and two Casa 295 transport aircraft. The details regarding the cost and suppliers of these aircraft were not disclosed. The Nigerian Air Force expects to receive these new additions by next year, aiming to bolster offensives against jihadist groups and armed gangs that have posed significant threats in the northwest and central regions of the country.

The AH-1 Cobra is a single-engine attack helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter, first flown in 1965 and entering service with the U.S. Army in 1967 during the Vietnam War. Used by air forces including those of Italy and Singapore, there are over 70 M-346 aircraft in service globally.

The AW109 is a light, twin-engine, multi-purpose helicopter developed by Agusta (now Leonardo), first flown in 1971 and entering service in 1976. It is used for various roles including medical evacuation, search and rescue, and military operations. Known for its versatility and high performance, several hundred AW109 helicopters are in service worldwide.

The Casa C-295 is a twin-turboprop tactical military transport aircraft developed by Airbus Defence and Space, first flown in 1998 and entering service in 2001. However, security analyst Mike Ejiofor expressed concerns that acquiring 50 aircraft might be an overly ambitious and potentially misdirected strategy. Simultaneously, Kaduna state authorities announced a collaboration with the military to establish three new operational fronts within the state. Governor Uba Sani revealed plans to create forward-operating bases in southern Kaduna as well as in the Giwa and Birnin-Gwari axis, with arrangements nearing completion.

The Nigerian air force faced significant criticism in December following an airstrike in Kaduna state that resulted in over 80 civilian casualties. The airstrike, intended to target gangs, highlighted the need for improved precision in military operations. In response, General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defense Staff of the Nigerian armed forces, assured the public of the professionalism of the Nigerian military and their commitment to protecting innocent citizens. He acknowledged the incident as a mistake and emphasized ongoing efforts to address such issues.

Ejiofor further stressed the importance of enhancing the air force's intelligence-gathering capabilities. He advocated for deploying more drones to gather accurate information about the activities of armed groups, stating that intelligence-driven strikes require reliable data to guide operations effectively.

A pergunta que ninguém quer responder: de onde vai sair o dinheiro para comprar jato Lift?

E se não tem para mais Gripen E, como pode ter para treinador fingindo ser caça de primeira linha?

Se pode comprar M-346, custando US 25 a 30 milhões a unidade, também pode dar-se um jeito, em havendo vontade política, de assinar aquele adendo contratual com os suecos, e ainda garantir mais um cliente para o KC-390.

Mas tem alguém discutindo isso nas comissões de defesa no congresso?
