Sistema de controle TURMS-T para tanques Ariete AMV
The C1 Ariete will remain in service with the Italian Army for another 15 years. As part of the AMV (Aggiornamento Mezza Vita) modernization program, 125 Ariete tanks will be modernized for EUR 980 million and three Ariete AMV prototypes will be built.
The upgrade includes the installation of a new 1120 kW (originally 932 kW) Iveco MTCA V12AMV engine, a new Renk HSWL 295TM gearbox, 20% wider tracks to reduce ground pressure and better traction, as well as a stronger brake system.
The digital heart of the Ariete AMV will be the Italian TURMS-T (Tank Universal Reconfiguration Modular System) fire control system, which includes the Lothar gunner's sight and the ATTILA-D commander's panoramic sensor.
The main armament of the tank will be still the 120 mm OTO 120 gun 44 caliber with a smooth caliber and a service life of 800 rounds. The maximum rate of fire is up to eight shots per minute. There are 15 rounds of ammunition in the turret, and another 27 rounds in the chassis.
