EWPS-100 Electronic Warfare (EW) system
Type
Airborne self-protection EW system.
Description
EWPS-100 has been developed to protect helicopters and combat aircraft from present and future radar-controlled weapon systems. The system operates over the 0.7 to 18 GHz requency band and provides a low-cost and effective answer to operational requirements in the air-to-air and air-to-ground roles. Based on experience gained on various electronic support measures and electronic countermeasures systems, an integrated EW system architecture has been developed using modular techniques, field-proven software and hardware building blocks. The EWPS integrates the DM/A-104 radar warning receiver, the DM/A-202 chaff/flare dispenser and the DM/A-401 self-protection jammer.
The main features of the EWPS-100 are a high probability of threat interception, high sensitivity, initiation of countermeasures, power management in time and frequency and control of chaff/flare cartridge dispensing.
