Chilean shipyard wins refit, upgrade of Ecuador's Type 209/1300s
The Ecuadorian government has awarded a USD120 million contract for the refitting and upgrading of its two German-built Type 209/1300 submarines to Chilean naval shipyard ASMAR. The state-owned shipyard, which is administrated by the Chilean Navy, was selected in competition with Brazil's AMRJ and Germany's Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW).

O forista K21 é um ex-submarinista equatoriano. Posta regularmente no elsnorkel,com sobriedade, tendo aparentemente fortes contatos anteriores com nossa arma submarina.

Es de justicia mencionar que casi al inicio del proceso (primer semestre del 2006)se descartó al fabricante HDW de Alemania por sus elevados costos que harían inviable al proyecto.
Durante el 2006 y 2007 participaron AMRJ y ASMAR. En la fase final de entrega de ofertas, el AMRJ se excusó de participar.

Na verdade, tecnicamente falando, quem participava da concorrência era a Emgepron, só que ela não tem as instalações físicas, quando o AMRJ chegou a conclusão que ficaria ocupado com os novos brinquedos croassantes, falou para Emgepron, não tenho como executar o serviço. Não restou outra saída a Engepron que abandonar a disputa, dado que o Brasil só existe uma única instalação especializada em submarinos.

DCNS va moderniser les systèmes de combat des sous-marins équatoriens

Le groupe français a remporté un nouveau succès commercial en Amérique latine. Dans le cadre du programme de modernisation de ses deux sous-marins du type 209/1300, l'Equateur a choisi la solution présentée par Underwater Defense Systems International (UDSI), filiale de DCNS, pour mettre à niveau les systèmes de combat des navires. Ce marché n'a pas été directement remporté par l'industriel tricolore mais était intégré dans l'offre globale présentée par Asmar. Le chantier chilien et DCNS sont, notamment, associés dans le cadre du soutien des sous-marins O'Higgins et Carrera, livrés en 2005 au Chili. Selon la lettre d'informations stratégiques TTU, qui a révélé la nouvelle, Asmar devrait également mener à bien la remotorisation des sous-marins équatoriens. La propulsion est, actuellement, assurée par un moteur électrique Siemens et quatre groupes électrogènes MTU.
Si le contrat équatorien n'est pas considérable financièrement parlant, il n'en reste pas moins très symbolique. Depuis la vente de deux sous-marins du type Scorpène au Chili, en 1997, DCNS et Armaris, son ancienne filiale commune avec Thales, ont réussi à pénétrer le marché très fermé de l'Amérique latine.
Cap sur le Brésil ?
En matière de sous-marins, le continent était, jusque là, la chasse gardée de l'industrie allemande. Grâce à l'Espagne, avec laquelle le projet Scorpène a été développé, une première brèche avait été ouverte au Chili. Suite à la commande de nouveaux sous-marins, Armaris est parvenu, en 2004, à convaincre Santiago de moderniser ses anciens bâtiments allemands du type 209/1400 avec des systèmes de combat SUBTICS. Démontrant à cette occasion que son système de combat pouvait s'adapter sur des bateaux étrangers, le groupe français ira démarcher d'autres marines sud-américaines équipées de sous-marins allemands. Ainsi, le Venezuela, doté du type 209, achètera des prestations de modernisation de divers composants du système de combat de ses navires. Après l'Equateur, DCNS regarde désormais vers Sao Paulo. Aide technique pour réaliser le premier sous-marin nucléaire brésilien, renouvellement de l'actuelle flotte de sous-marins classiques... Les sujets de discussion ne manquent pas.
Eso confirma entonces que el paquete es relacionado a la modernizacion de los 209 chilenos. Segun el Naval Weapons del USNI estos incluyen tres consolas Subtics en agregacion a las chilenas.
Ojo, SISDEF, la empresa subsidiaria de ASMAR y Bae electronics provee las consolas y un amplio abanico de componentes para los Subtics de los Scorpene y 209 chilenos.
Y , tambien, que los USD 120 millones son solo para plataforma, dejando fuera al sistema de combate y sensores....con eso solamente el contrato debe de subir sus buenos 10 a 15 millones de USD extras.......

Ojo, SISDEF, la empresa subsidiaria de ASMAR y Bae electronics provee las consolas y un amplio abanico de componentes para los Subtics de los Scorpene y 209 chilenos.
Y , tambien, que los USD 120 millones son solo para plataforma, dejando fuera al sistema de combate y sensores....con eso solamente el contrato debe de subir sus buenos 10 a 15 millones de USD extras.......

DCNS Signs Contracts to Modernise Ecuadorian Submarines

PARIS --- On 22 December 2007, DCNS signed two contracts with Chilean naval shipyard ASMAR, one to modernise the combat systems of two Ecuadorian Navy Type 209 submarines and the other to assist ASMAR with hull cutting to expedite the associated refits.
The DCNS share in these contracts is worth more than EUR 10 million. The contracts were signed following the Ecuadorian government’s decision to award ASMAR a major contract to modernise and refit the submarines.
The combat system modernisation contract was signed by UDS International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the DCNS group. It calls for the replacement of the submarines’ current German-designed combat systems by Subtics (Submarine Tactical Integrated Combat System) systems developed by DCNS.
The Subtics configurations for the Ecuadorian submarines comprise a combat management system (CMS) supplied by DCNS and Chilean company SISDEF and interfaces with a Thales sonar suite and a new-generation torpedo system by WASS. Thanks to its open modular architecture, Subtics can be configured to suit all types of submarines and a wide range of operational needs.
“DCNS won its first contract to modernise the combat systems of an international customer’s submarines in 1999. In 2004, the group won the ‘209 Turbot’ contract to modernise the Chilean Navy’s Type 209 boats, its first Type 209 modernisation contract. Since then, DCNS has won one combat system modernisation contract each year, making it the world leader in this market segment,” said Executive Vice President & COO Bernard Planchais.
Subtics systems have also been selected for an Agosta 90B programme for Pakistan and new-build Scorpene programmes for Chile, Malaysia and India.
DCNS, and more specifically teams from the group’s Cherbourg shipyard, will provide technical assistance to cut the hulls of the two Ecuadorian Type 209 submarines in half so that their diesel engines and generators can be overhauled and replaced. This work will be undertaken at the ASMAR shipyard in Chile.

menudo problema para la MGP.
sobre el corte de casco, esto tiene que ver con que uno de los 209 ecuatorianos tuvo un incendio a bordo cuyas reparaciones nunca fueron completas, sobre todo en terminos de la calidad del planchado, etc.
ASMAR hace cortes de 209 ( sin daños por incendio) ya hace tiempo, y el prototipo de la conversion y MLU que esta adquiriendo Ecuador ya se aplico al Thomson chileno, que esta terminando el trabajo por estos meses.
ANTES de que se firmar este contrato.
