Veo que no hemos mejorado mucho...he...
Siguen las ricitas, jaja, joo, sin mucho que ofrecer...
Veamos algo un poco más entretenido:
a) Ya el año 2001 Israel informaba de la compra de los Derby por parte de la FACH:
Following several large arms deals, the Israel company Rafael Armament Development Authority finished the fiscal year 2001 with the largest profit in its history, clearing $21 million. One of these deals was the sale of the Derby beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile for Chile's modern F-16 planes. As part of this deal, which totals tens of millions of dollars, Rafael will also provide short-range air-to-air Python 4 missiles as well as navigating devices

c) En el 2004, Jane´s ya se entregan los detalles de avance, e Israel confirma la entrega componentes para los F-5TIII:

Chile bolsters fighter force

The Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh - Chilean Air Force) is implementing a series of capability enhancements for its frontline fighter force and plans to keep its entire upgraded combat aircraft inventory in service after its new F-16C/D Block 50Ms arrive in 2006.
During the 29 March-4 April FIDAE exhibition, details emerged about two significant continuing upgrade programmes, plus efforts to bring the Rafael Derby active-radar air-to-air missile (AAM) into full service.
Chile's ENAER and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) are now working on the next stage of an upgrade for the FACh's F-5E Tigre IIIs. IAI developed the original Tigre III upgrade for Chile in the early 1990s, adding the EL/M-2032B multimode radar, Display And Sight Helmet (DASH) and an improved cockpit. The aircraft were also made compatible with the Rafael Python 3 and Python 4 AAMs. Chile began to integrate the Rafael Derby active-radar beyond- visual-range missile on its Tigre IIIs in 2002 (JDW 26 April 2002). That work continues, following at least two airborne test launches. Israeli industry sources told JDW that the new systems upgrade for the Tigre IIIs would introduce the final operational capability for the Derby missile. This upgrade, known as Tigre III Plus, began last year and involves integrating a new mission computer fit, datalink and new cockpit systems, including paired colour multifunction liquid-crystal displays.
In September 2003, five or six F-5s - including two F-5Fs - were undergoing work at ENAER's El Bosque facility. Since then, at least three upgraded F-5Es have re-entered service with Grupo 7, based at Antofagasta. Chile has an operational fleet of 13 F-5Es and three F-5Fs.

Brazil to acquire Derby BVRAAM
# Brazil will acquire a new air-combat capability when it receives the Derby missile
# Brazil joins Chile and Venezuela in operating BVR air-to-air missiles
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) is to equip its upgraded Northrop F-5M air-defence/attack aircraft with the Rafael Armament Development Authority Derby active-radar beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM).
This is an entirely new air combat capability for the country. Jane's has learned that the first Israeli-made Derby training missiles will be delivered to Brazil by August to allow the air force to employ its new weapons for the 'CRUZEX 2006' multinational exercise.
With the arrival of the Derby, Brazil becomes only the third South American air force to field a BVRAAM capability for its air-defence aircraft and the second customer for Derby in the region.
It was previously believed that Brazil would acquire South Africa's Kentron R-Darter missile for its F-5M (F-5BR) aircraft, currently being overhauled and modernised by an industry team comprising Embraer and Elbit.
The Derby and the R-Darter share a common development root and, during the 1990s, Kentron (Denel Aerospace) and Rafael had a marketing agreement to sell the weapon in separate countries.
Under this arrangement Rafael supplied Derby missiles to Chile (arming its upgraded F-5E Tigre III aircraft), while Brazil was designated as a South African market. Kentron undertook 'form-and-fit' trials with the R-Darter on the F-5M and an order was expected for the South African firm
e) Y ahora, Jane´s sigue con la misma noticia:
It is reported that Derby has a maximum range of 60 km in the air-to-air role. The missile has been cleared for carriage on F-5, F-15 and F-16 aircraft, and there were over 40 test flights. It is reported that Derby entered service in Israel in the air-to-air role in 1993, and has also been exported. It is possible that the South African R-Darter programme is an export version of Derby. Exports of the AAM version of Derby have been made to Brazil, Chile and Singapore. In 2002 it was reported that Derby had been exported to Chile for use on their F-5E Tiger 3 aircraft, and in 2005 that Brazil has fitted Derby missiles to their F-5E Tiger 2 aircraft.

Pero no se preocupen, la FACH está tratando urgentemente deshacerse de los F-5, ya que después de todos estos años, no se ha logrado la integración, las alas están sin LERX por lo que apenas vuelan....
Si todo un desastre.
Feliz año nuevo
