O IRST funcionado e catando alvos aéreos a 80KM seria suficiente para mandar um R-27ET neste alvo de maneira completamente silenciosa/passiva.
Eu acho que isso abre muitas possibilidades no combate aéreo, inclusive contra aeronaves furtivas.

Principalmente, ainda mais com a cobertura de radar na banda L que é a carrasca das aeronaves furtivas, apesar de ser pouco preciso quanto a velocidade, vetor direcional, altitude, serviria mais como um alerta, e após descoberta a aeronave o IRST aponta para o contato e fecha o lock.Eu acho que isso abre muitas possibilidades no combate aéreo, inclusive contra aeronaves furtivas.

Exatamente.
Muitos dirão que não dá prá ter a precisão do radar, mas um alvo voando a 1000Km/h, a 5000m é difícil ser um pombo ou urubú.

Existe ainda o possibilidade de usar-se o datalink e fundir os sinais de vários radares, IRST e etc para gerar um alvo e uma solução de tiro.

MOSCOW --- The Komsomolsk-na-Amure-based Yuri Gagarin Aviation Industrial Concern (KnAAPO), incorporated by the Sukhoi Holding Company, and Sberbank (the Savings Bank of Russia) concluded today a general agreement to build the Su-35S multi-role fighter.
The document was signed by Alexander Pekarsh, KnAAPO director general, and Olga Bukhankova, head of the Savings Bank central division in Komsomolsk-na-Amure. The signing of this agreement will provide long-term funding for one of Russia’s largest aviation enterprises and ensure the series production of aircraft on time.
The state’s contract under which Sukhoi must supply, by the year 2015, the Defense Ministry with 48 super-maneuverable Su-35S fighters was signed in August last year, at the MAKS-2009 aerospace show.
The series production of the aircraft, the first of which [will be] handed over to the Defense Ministry late this year, was organized at Sukhoi’s facility in Komsomolsk.
The fighter is also intended for the foreign market. Talks are underway for the supply of aircraft to customers in Southeast Asia, Middle East, and South America for re-equipment of their air forces.
The Su-35 is a thoroughly modernized super-maneuverable multi-role fighter of the 4++ generation. It employs the fifth-generation technologies giving it an edge over the same class fighters.
The special feature of the aircraft is a new avionics suite based on a digital information control system, integrating onboard instrumentation, a new radar with a phased antenna array capable of detecting a larger number of air targets with their simultaneous tracking and engagement (tracking of 30 and engagement of 8 air targets along with tracking of 4 and engagement of 2 ground targets), and new increased and vectored thrust engines.
The Su-35 features a wide array of long-, middle- and short-range weapons. It carries guided munitions for resisting radar systems and fighting ships, general purpose weapons, guided aerial bombs and unguided missiles. The radar signature of the fighter, as compared to that of the fourth-generation, has been reduced by several times thanks to the current-conducting coating of the cockpit, application of radio absorptive surface materials and reduced number of protruding sensors.
The aircraft’s service life is 6,000 flight hours, the life cycle is 30 years, and the designed operating life of the adjustable nozzle engines is 4,000 hours

48 caças é bem pouco, pra quem está com tantos caças Su-27 visivelmente apodrecendo. Parece (e me é bem justo) que há a intenção de mais um lote de 48 Su-35S, formando-se assim 4 esquadrões do moderno caça.
Todo mundo sabe que vai sim haver um hiato entre a saída do Su-27 e do MiG-31 e a entrada do PAK-FA. Modernizar a maior quantidade de células de Su-27 possíveis (isto está indo beem devagar) e mais um lote de Su-35S parece ser uma boa solução.

Frearam a modernização dos SU-27SKM, já que o Su-35BM vai entrar, e sim, vai sair mais um lote de 48 aviões.

Não deveriam ter freado a modernização, ela é muito importante. Os 96 Su-35 ainda serão pouco para segurar a barra até o PAK-FA, que só vai estar em uma quantidade boa na VVS ali por 2025 numa boa hipótese, de que recebam pelo menos umas 15 a 20 aeronaves por ano, considerando que começarão a recebê-los em escala ali por 2015/16.Carlos Mathias escreveu:Frearam a modernização dos SU-27SKM, já que o Su-35BM vai entrar, e sim, vai sair mais um lote de 48 aviões.
A não modernização implica num ponto crítico de obsolescência mais ou menos depois de 2015, quando os Su-27 estarão muito velhos, o Su-35 não ter chegado em quantidade razoável e o PAK-FA vai estar ainda engatinhando.

Você não conta a modernização dos SU-24, Tu-160, Tu-22M3, a compra de mais SU-34...
E a a Rússia vai diminuir mesmo o número de caças.

Deve ser uma parada parecida com o DAS do F-35, várias câmeras IR espalhadas pelo fuselagem, cobrindo 360º, para detecção de alvos e/ou mísseis.

The works on the contract started in autumn 2009 at the KnAAPO facility of the Sukhoi holding in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
At the present time the first production Su-35S is at the final assembly shop of the KnAAPO. The preparations are underway for its flight testing. The first production Su-35S will be delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense by the end of the year.
Su-35 is also intended for export sales. Sukhoi is holding talks with customers in South-East Asia, the Middle East and South America anxious to re-arm their air forces on Su-35 sales.
The Su-35 is a thoroughly upgraded super-maneuverable fighter of the 4++ generation. It employs technologies of the fifth generation that assure its superiority over similar class fighters.
