Esas fotos corresponden a un pequeño patrullero de 1.400 Tn de desplazamiento. Se supone que ira armado con un cañon de 76mm como armamento principal y varios montajes de 20/25mm. Radar 2D y direccion de tiro radar/optronica.
Los "grandes" de 2.400Tn todavia no se han empezado a fabricar y se especula que lleven incluso un VLS de 8 celdas y la clasificacion de Fragatas por parte de la ARBV.
De todas formas son todo suposiciones porque falta la confirmacion oficial sobre el Armamento a montar.

Navantia Begins Building Third Offshore Patrol Vessel for Venezuela

The San Fernando-Puerto Real shipyard on Dec. 10 cut the first steel plate for the third (C-507) of four Offshore Patrol Vessels that will be used for monitoring and protecting Venezuela’s Exclusive Economic Zone (Known as POVZEE vessels from their acronym in Spanish).
The event was attended by a delegation from Venezuela’s naval inspectorate, the Comisión de la Contraloría General de la Fuerza Armada Nacional (CONGEFAN).
The POVZEE vessels are a series of four sophisticated ships that Navantia has designed to operate in any geographical area, as much in the open sea as in coastal waters, with no limitation except for tropical and polar extremes. They will be able to carry out different types of missions such as monitoring and protection of Exclusive the Economic Zone; protection of maritime traffic; defense of strategic interests; search and rescue operations; assistance to other ships; humanitarian missions; control of marine pollution; operations against smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal immigration, and environmental monitoring and intelligence.
This type of ship can carry 92 people as follows: either 52 officers and crew, 8 helicopter crew, 20 trainees and 12 special forces personnel; or 12 officers, 24 petty officers and 56 ratings and seamen.
The basic characteristics of the POVZEE class are:
- Maximum Length: 98.9 ms
- Length between perpendiculars: 85.8 ms
- Maximum beam: 13.6 ms
- Displacement: 2,419 tons
- Maximum speed: 24 knots
- Propulsion: 4 x 4,400 KW
- Society of Classification: GL
In addition, the shipyard is also building four BVL-type patrol craft (coastal patrol boats) for the Navy of Venezuela.

O que eles chamam de velocidade máxima de cruzeiro, é a velocidade máxima em economia de combustível, que eu creio será à volta de 18 nós e não 19.
A velocidade de patrulha é isso mesmo. A velocidade mínima constante a que o navio pode navegar sem danificar as máquinas, porque como num automóvel, se andar sempre devagar também estraga o motor.

Esclarecimento: a velocidade com menor consumo é sempre a de cruzeiro, ie, à velocidade de patrulha o consumo é maior...?

Igualzinho a um automóvel. Há uma velocidade constante que desenvolve o motor sem um consumo excessivo, e uma mínima em que o motor começa a "ganhar carvão", mas o consumo é mínimo.

At the San Fernando-Puerto Real shipyard on March 11th the second of four offshore patrol boats (OPVs) being built for the Venezuelan Navy. The vessel was named “Yaviré” and was christened by Dña. Marieta Chapín de Yibirín.

On 24th June, Navantia launched, at the San Fernando-Puerto Real shipyard, the first of four Economic Zone Patrol Boat (PVOZEE) and the third of four offshore patrol boats (OPV’s) that are being built for the Venezuelan Navy.
The vessels were named “Caribe” and “Naiguatá” and were christened by Dinorah Villasmil de Mata and Alma Pura Blanco de Padrón.
Attending the ceremony were, among others, the Vice-chairman of SEPI, Federico Montero, and the San Fernando-Puerto Real shipyard's General Manager, Fernando Miguélez.
The PVOZEE has a length of 98.90 meters, a displacement of 2,200 tonnes and a maximum speed of 25 knots. The missions are the control of the economic exclusive zone, search and rescue and also anti-air, anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare.
The OPV has a length overall of 79.90 metres and the capacity to displace 1,500 tonnes and reach a maximum speed of 22 knots. These ships will be able to carry out a wide variety of missions such as coastal surveillance and protection, protection of maritime traffic, health assistance to other ships, external firefighting, the fight and control of marine pollution, transport of personnel and provisions, search and rescue operations, rapid intervention, frogmen support, surface defence and passive electronic warfare.
The contract for these eight patrol boats, whose construction will mean 5 million work hours (1,456,900 for Navantia and 3,580,700 for auxiliary industry), was signed on 28 November 2005.
Their deliveries are scheduled to take place between October 2009 and July 2011.
