Foi bom enquanto durou, mas parece que a pá de cal acaba de ser jogada sobre este mal fadado FX-2 (O morto vivo). Se até o Saito diz que não vai haver decisão, então é porque a coisa subiu no telhado.

KC-390 advances, F-X2 doesn't

The Brazilian government will not make a decision on the F-X2 fighter competition before presidential elections in the country in the fall, predicts the Brazilian air force chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Saito. He indicates a decision may have been made, but will be handed off by president Lula to his replacement.
Saito will not say which aircraft he prefers.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian air force has made an initial purchase commitment to the Embraer KC-390 military airlifter, with the goal of fielding the aircraft starting in 2016.
The formal contract is to be signed in the next two years, says Embraer CEO Frederico Curado. Getting the agreement in principal with the Brazilian air force now helps Embraer in its discussions to bring other countries and potential partners onboard the program.
Embraer’s vice president for military activities, Orlando Netto, says the design studies so far undertaken indicate the maximum payload capability has increased to 23 metric tons from 19 metric tons, with a range of 1,400 naut. mi.
