May 29, 2007 - Today, Microsoft Games Studios announced that it has shipped the fantasy-tinged multiplayer FPS, Shadowrun, to retailers across North America. The game is most likely en route to stores as you are reading this article, and will be playable on both the PC and the Xbox 360.
Based on a classic table-top role-playing game and developed by FASA Studio, Shadowrun puts players in the midst of fast-paced skirmishes involving technology and magic. Players can play as humans, elves, dwarves, or trolls, as they blast their ways through the competition. The game takes place in a futuristic, cyber-punk version of Santos, Brazil, and its neighboring ancient Ziggurat. The game comes with nine unique battle maps and three additional map variations.
Shadowrun is the first game to support Microsoft's Games for Windows - Live initiative, which allows owners of both the PC and Xbox 360 version to play together. Assuming all players have an Xbox Live Gold or Games for Windows- Live Gold account, you will be able to compete, cooperate, and communicate with your friends, regardless of the platform on which you play.
Shadowrun is retailing for a suggested price of $59.99 on the Xbox 360 and $49.99 on the PC.
